Somewhere in Georgia, a Persian cat with matted fur and frightened eyes waits in a shelter that cannot keep her much longer. She was surrendered when her family moved away. She doesn't understand why the people she loved stopped coming.
For cats like her, Fancy Feline Rescue of the South is the turning point — the moment the story changes.
"Each adoption process is a thoughtful and thorough experience," said Dale Thompson, owner of Fancy Felines Rescue of the South. "We want to make sure each cat gets to feel that love and connection and get them purring again."

Fancy Feline Rescue of the South is a non-profit, no-kill rescue licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture since March 2006. Small in size but vast in compassion, its team and volunteers open their arms to the "Fancy Feline" breeds — Persian, Himalayan, Exotic, Ragdoll, Birman, Maine Coon, Siamese, Sphynx, and more. When space allows, they welcome domestic cats, too.
These are animals that have been abandoned, abused, or simply left behind. Their goal is straightforward and profound: Give every cat safe haven, tender care, and a second chance at the home they always deserved.
There are no rows of cages here. Instead, Fancy Feline Rescue works primarily through a carefully screened network of foster homes — real living rooms, warm laps, and sunny windowsills. Typically, no foster family ever cares for more than six cats at a time, preserving precious one-on-one attention.

That limit makes all the difference. It means the frightened Persian gets brushed gently, day after day, until she trusts a human hand again. Every cat is evaluated for temperament and fully vetted before adoption. Matching is taken just as seriously as rescuing. The process begins with an application, reviewed by an Adoption Committee, ensuring each cat finds the family that fits them best.
You'll find their adoptable cats on display at Pet Supermarket adoption locations in Kennesaw, Marietta and Dallas, GA — where futures are quietly being rewritten, one whisker at a time.
